Our journey began with humble beginnings at 2a Crown Lane, initially set up as a small Madrassah for children. Recognizing the growing needs of our community, we expanded our services, including congregational prayers and a range of educational and recreational activities. This growth led us to move to a larger facility at 116 London Road, formerly The Crown Inn pub, which we transformed into a modern community centre with the support of our local community and council.
Education remains at the heart of MICC’s mission. We offer a variety of Islamic classes for children and adults, including Qur’an study, Hadith circles, and language-specific religious education. Our children’s classes are designed to cater to the specific needs of young learners, while our adult education programs welcome all, regardless of their background or level of knowledge.
Community engagement is another key aspect of our work. We host mosque tours and school visits to promote understanding and inclusivity. Our regular programs and events aim to foster a sense of belonging and support among community members, while also welcoming people from diverse backgrounds to learn about Islam and Muslim culture.
At MICC, we are committed to creating a space that not only serves the spiritual needs of the Muslim community but also acts as a beacon of unity and understanding within the wider community. We strive to continue our legacy of providing high-quality educational and social services, enhancing the lives of our members and contributing positively to the broader society.
