Following the acquisition, Security Exchange will form a division of the enlarged Chelsea Group, providing enhanced specialist insurance risk management consultancy services to its clients, including underwriters, brokers and their insureds. As part of The Chelsea Group, Security Exchange is uniquely placed to build upon its management team’s twenty five-year track record in the provision of bespoke services across a diverse range of disciplines including: Kidnap & Ransom, Product Contamination, Terrorism & Political Violence, Marine Piracy, Aviation and Cyber.
The Chelsea Group, with over 8000 staff in 43 countries, will provide Security Exchange’s insurance market clients with access to its international network, benefiting not only from the Group’s extensive contacts and database, but also its unrivalled global operational footprint.
Commenting on the acquisition, Rupert Reid, Managing Director of Security Exchange said:
“The acquisition of Security Exchange by The Chelsea Group brings our clients significant benefits; as being part of an established group enables us to deepen and broaden our Special Risks product offering, and provides us with a truly global footprint. As a part of a privately owned group, we retain the important benefits of being completely independent, but now have the platform from which to grow market share and really offer best in class, bespoke, specialist insurance risk management services.”
Lord Westbury, Chairman of The Chelsea Group, said:
“We welcome Security Exchange into The Chelsea Group, at a time when the increasing number and complexity of risks facing organisations, and therefore the need for proven security solutions, has never been greater. The team, led by Rupert Reid, is highly regarded and their track record across multiple insurance risk management disciplines, particularly in Kidnap & Ransom and Product Recall, is world class. This acquisition adds an important division to The Chelsea Group as we further consolidate our position as a leading international provider of fully integrated security risk management services.”
