Business profile: St. Dorothy’s Residence caters for young ladies coming to study in London or for a short holiday from all over the world. It aims at providing not only a boarding house but a homely environment where guidance and advice assure the well being and comfort of the students.

The Residence is a historic, listed building in attractive grounds. Small, clean and quiet with a friendly atmosphere, it is ideal for female students on full study or on a short holiday. Situated in a very pleasant area of Hampstead it is only a three minutes walk from Hampstead Underground Station and a twenty minutes ride from Central London.

Hampstead has long had literary and artistic connections; many were eminent residents of Hampstead including Robert Louis Stevenson, John Keats, Gerard Manley Hopkins, H.G. Wells to mention but a few. Our house was the residence of General Charles De Gaulle during his years in exile in World War II. It is only a few minutes walk from the famous Hampstead Heath and other beautiful parks and gardens.

The Residence caters for about thirty students in single and shared rooms. A Chapel, a large panelled study room, a television room, a kitchenette for very light cooking, laundry facilities, showers on all floors, and a large secluded garden are all available for the students’ own use. It has central heating throughout during the winter months. The house is very well kept and all amenities are cleaned daily. The students and staff are very friendly, thus creating a warm and welcoming environment.
